ABOUT THE GROWING STAGE…

The Growing Stage was co-founded in May 1994 by Artistic Director Dolly Stevens and Laurie Farnsworth, local costume designer and historian. We were incorporated as a 501c3 not-for-profit theatre company in November 1995. Early programming included basic acting classes for elementary and middle school aged children, performance workshops for young children and main stage productions for children and youth through high school ages. The first summer camp (1995) was held at The Old Stone School in Hillsboro, a two-week theatre and drama camp that served 65 children ages 8-12. Each summer the camp program has grown in attendance.

Mission Statement:

The ongoing purpose of The Growing Stage is to provide theatre education for elementary through high school students via camps and workshops, promoting theatre arts awareness throughout the Loudoun County Community.
